Slovenian Marriage Traditions

Many Slovak marriage customs properly appear foreigners familiar, but Slovaks truly do appreciate them. The ceremony should look beautiful, and if something does n’t look good on camera, they are n’t afraid to retake it. This is what matters most to them. In a service known as pytacky, men used to go to the princess’s parents to ask for her hand in marriage. However, the wedding would have to carry out a number of tasks to demonstrate his devotion to her if her families objected. Running a labyrinth, dancing with the entire town, and giving presents to her kids were some examples of this.

The » savojka » ceremony, in which the princess’s family gather to braid her hair, is a tradition. This is a pretty heartfelt slovakian brides time as she prepares for her new existence. The couple will then eat the same plate and knife of sauce, indicating that they will be combining everything from now on.

Slovak newlyweds were formerly required to see a logs as well. People who needed timber for cooking and heating, but they learned how to use a knew, which had functional stems. It’s a much more metaphoric act now, but it still helps them work along and grow in respect.
